Volume buyers measure trim in joints removed, not just metres delivered, and the 4.88 metre finger jointed format is designed around that arithmetic. Longer lengths mean fewer butt joints on long walls, fewer offcuts at the end of a run, and a loading pattern that fills a 40 foot high cube container with less air.
