Fluted surfaces have moved from mid century reference to mainstream interior specification, and this slatted tambour panel delivers the effect with predictable spacing and clean edges. Each panel is machined from oak, walnut or fir veneered stock, with flute spacing held at 20, 25 or 30 mm and depth between 6 and 10 mm so the light and shadow rhythm reads identically across a full wall. The cores are available rigid for cabinetry and reception fronts, or on a flexible non woven backing for curved columns, bar fronts and radiused feature walls. Panels are cut on a CNC router, sanded, then finished by hand, which keeps the flute walls crisp instead of rounded. Because spacing and depth are fixed by the tooling rather than by site labour, designers receive the shadow line they drew, and contractors receive a component that installs with adhesive or a concealed clip in a fraction of the time of individually applied battens.

Fluted panelling is specified wherever a flat surface needs texture without colour: hotel reception fronts, retail display walls, restaurant banquettes, lift lobbies and residential media walls. The flexible format wraps curved bar faces, column casings and stair spindles where rigid boards cannot follow the radius, while the rigid version faces wardrobe doors, kitchen islands and vanity units. Designers pair 20 mm spacing for small scale joinery and 30 mm spacing for tall walls where a broader rhythm reads better from a distance. Because panels are modular, an installer can clad a feature wall in a day, and replacement of a damaged panel does not disturb neighbouring flutes, a practical advantage in hospitality projects with heavy footfall.
Installation & CareCondition panels flat for 48 hours before cutting. Mark the module layout on the wall and start from a centre line so both ends finish with equal flutes. Apply MS polymer adhesive in vertical beads and press the panel with a roller, or use the concealed clip system where panels must be removable. Cut with a track saw and finish edges with a matching end trim. For flexible panels on curves, warm the backing slightly and fix from the centre outwards. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth; refresh oiled faces annually with a natural oil to keep the flute walls from drying.
Packaging & Quality AssurancePanels travel in foam lined cartons with rigid corner boards and are stacked face to face so flutes cannot abrade. Pallet loads are strapped and moisture protected for sea freight. Quality checks cover flute spacing, depth, straightness, veneer shade and finish adhesion, with a sample panel retained from each lot. Where a project needs matching material later, the retained tooling and finish recipe allow a repeat run that blends with the original installation.
